Well, the worms are not happy with me. I had to put them in the garage instead of in a unfinished basement. They are more exposed to the elements in the garage but I didn't have many options.
Pros: no fruit fly carcasses in the basement window casings, no fear of attracting vermin into the house, easier access to process the poop (which has been phenomenal for the new plantings)
Cons: it's too hot in the garage this summer and the worms tried to escape. The smell was intense and it wasn't a pretty sight. It made me gag.
So now I have to find a solution like rig a small air conditioning unit near the factory - kidding...For now, I open the garage door to create a breeze and take the worm factory out for an airing.
The plants and trees are flourishing. I have to make the sure the worms are also.
Happy Summer
